ICP-Brasil Certificates Installation Guide

For being a recent creation hierarchy, the ICP-Brasil root has not been incorporated to the softwares of the large manufacturers. Consequently, applications such as Explorer®, Outlook®, Outlook Express®, Eudora®, Lotus Notes® and others that need to validate the digital certificates used in the signature of electronic contents, could inform that a signature is invalid if you don’t have the complete certification chain of ICP-Brasil to validate it.

Thus, it’s recommended that you install the ICP-Brasil Root Certificate Authority on your computer. Under the ICP-Brasil, several Certificate Authorities are already authorized to operate, among which CertiSign, Serasa and Serpro. Therefore, you must install the Digital Certificates from all the certified Certificate Authorities, which will allow the assembly of the ICP-Brasil complete certification chain, making your computer able to operate properly under the Brazilian digital certification hierarchy.

To install the ICP-Brasil certificates, follow the procedures below :

ICP-Brasil Certificates Installation Process

  • Download the certificates by clicking here, saving the file on your computer (Do not select the Open option)

  • Right-click on the file saved on your computer

  • Select from the menu the Install Certificate option

  • The certificate import wizard will be started. Click on Forward (Next)

  • Select the option Select automatically the certificates storage according to certificate type and click on Forward (Next)

  • Click on Finish

As soon as the certificate authorities issue new certificates, such certificates will be available on this page.
